Dear Bibletidbit reader,

My wife and I have entered a contest on FACEBOOK hosted by Certain Teed. They are have a contest to win $75,000 to fix up your home. We hope to win that money to fox up ours and can with your help. Just go to  the Certain Teed facebook page and vote for me, Dan Egan, it would be much appreciated. You can vote once a day until June 11th.

NOW FOR THE BIBLE TIDBIT.

TIPS FOR SUMMER EVANGELIZING

#1 Wear a Catholic T-Shirt -  I think summer garage sales and the like are perfect places to evangelize. I wear my, "Who Started Your Church" shirt everywhere. If anyone asks about my shirt and says - Who started your church? I say - Jesus of Nazareth. Do you go to church anywhere? A conversation has been started.

When it comes time to close the conversation or if it isn't going anywhere I offer them a copy of the list of churches and when they were created - I have them printed on the back of my tract, "Why I am Catholic and Think You Should Be Too". Not many people ask me about my shirt but I do catch many reading it.

#2 Look for religious books and articles and ask the owners if they attend a church anywhere.

#3 Go to rummage sales at non-Catholic Churches. If they aren't busy ask them if they would like to grow in a deeper relationship with Jesus. When they say yes, which they will. Offer them the ideas from my tract, "A Deeper Relationship With Jesus."
(In brief - we can grow toward a deeper relationship with Jesus by (1) following the Tradition of the Apostles, (2) listening to faithful bishops Christ has set in charge of us, (3) Studying the Church Fathers and what they believed, and (4) studying the lives of the saints who had a profound love for Jesus and imitate them.)

#4 Host a garage sale at your home or church and have free Catholic literature available. If people are not busy, make your conversation about Christ so that others can overhear and either join in or be encouraged by your speech. (This is a good place to throw around some Bible Tidbits)

If you are interested in any of my tracts - "Why I am Catholic And Think You Should Be Too", or "A Deeper Relationship With Jesus" - please write to me and I will send them to you to print, copy, and distribute. catholic4areason@gmail.com

If you have any summer ideas to evangelize write them in the comments below - I would be interested in reading them and I am sure other would as well.

DON'T FORGET TO VOTE FOR US ON FACEBOOK. YOU CAN VOTE EVERYONE ONCE UNTIL JUNE 11TH. THANK YOU.

I voted for you!

Also, would you consider putting together a more comprehensive preview of the Orchard commentaries and Gospel commentaries? I'm thinking a few pages from introductions to individual books of Scripture, and several pages of actual commentary? It would greatly help me in deciding whether to buy them when I get the money.
Thank you!

I'd like to help by voting, but cannot find you on Facebook. How do I vote? Do I go to your page or Certain Teed?
